The Robertson County Fairgrounds sits on the east side of Springfield off TN-49, and the immediate area has grown into an unofficial event district. The county fair each August is the anchor event and draws crowds from three states, but the fairgrounds also host livestock shows, tractor pulls, gun shows, and the occasional concert throughout the year. Two motels and a scattering of restaurants have grown up along the TN-49 approach to serve event visitors.
Stay here if you have business at the fairgrounds — it's the closest lodging by five minutes over downtown Springfield. Otherwise, downtown Springfield is a better base for the same money. During the county fair (second week of August) rates double and every room in the county fills up. Book eight months out for fair week. Suits event-attendees, exhibitors, and rural-culture-curious visitors specifically.

Book by phone during event weeks — online availability lies more often than not when the fair is on. Getting around Robertson County Fairgrounds
Car essential. From Nashville International drive I-65 north to exit 112 (Springfield), then east on TN-49, about 50 minutes. Downtown Springfield is five minutes west. Downtown Nashville is 45 minutes. During fair week traffic on TN-49 backs up half a mile east of the fairgrounds entrance — arrive by 5pm for evening events or plan for a walk from farther-out parking. Ride-share is limited during major events.
