The Irving Convention Center is a light-rail station and convention venue in Irving, Texas, that anchors the district of the same name. It sits beside the Toyota Music Factory, so event nights and match days bring crowds of delegates, exhibitors and concert-goers to the same few blocks. Las Colinas, the planned urban center around the Mandalay Canal, is next door, and DFW International Airport lies partly within Irving, making the area an easy base for both a conference and an early flight. Business travelers and convention attendees make up much of the demand, while leisure guests use the hotels near Irving Convention Center as a springboard for the Irving Arts Center and the Mustangs of Las Colinas sculpture. The city is spread out and easiest to navigate by car, with State Highway 114, Interstate 635 and President George Bush Turnpike nearby, and DART bus and rail plus the Trinity Railway Express linking Irving to Dallas and Fort Worth. Spring and fall bring the mildest weather for walking between the venue and the surrounding hotels.
